wade putnam photoWade Putnam began his career in construction at the age of 14 during the summers when he began working for his father, who was a general contractor located in Nashville, Tennessee. He spent four years in the United States Air Force, where he worked under the Corps of Engineers in the Civil Engineering Branch as a surveyor. He was involved with the construction of Minuteman Missile Sites, Strategic Air Bases and other highly technical facilities.

Following his honorable discharge, Putnam worked for a large civil engineering firm in Houston, Texas, in the Land Planning Department. After relocating to Nashville from Houston, Putnam joined Turner Engineering, a Nashville based civil engineering firm working on numerous residential and commercial development projects around Nashville. Putnam left Turner Engineering to join Earl Swensson Architects, where he spent four years working as a project manager for projects developed by Investment Property Services, a division of Earl Swensson Architects.

Putnam left Earl Swensson Architects to begin his career in the medical field, joining General Care Corporation, a proprietary hospital company based in Nashville, with hospitals located throughout the Southeast. In this position, Putnam worked as a senior project manager, managing the construction of company owned hospitals. When General Care Corporation was acquired by Hospital Corporation of America, Putnam joined Hospital Affiliates International, where he served four years as a senior project manager. He supervised design completion and construction activities for multiple projects across the United States, as well as England and Europe, ensuring compliance with budget and schedule constraints.

Wade Putnam founded Medical Construction Group, Inc. on December 7, 1983. During the 20 years since its founding, Medical Construction Group has compiled an extensive and impressive list of clients such as Community Health Systems, Inc., NetCare Health Systems, Inc., New American Healthcare Corp., National Medical Enterprises, National Health Laboratories, Quorum Health Resources, HealthTrust, Inc., SmithKline Laboratories, Surgical Care Affiliates, National Rehabilitation Centers, ARCON Healthcare, International Clinical Laboratories, University of Alabama Medical Center and numerous independent clients. Medical Construction Group has constructed over five hundred projects in thirty-nine states.

Putnam's professional training and education includes pre-architecture study at the University of Tennessee and civil engineering curricula at the University of South Dakota. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Engineering and Construction School. Medical Construction Group enjoys a ninety-five percent repeat client base which is exemplary of MCG's ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
